A long year...
So... It's about two weeks off from being a year. One year since I lost one of those I love the most. Not to something inescapable like death, but a comically tragic series of events, miscommunications, and I am quite certain a number of imagined slights and crimes. I can only guess, as I was never given the reasons...
On the off chance that anyone ever happens to read this... Here's a little advice: If you are bothered by something a loved one is doing, you should either talk to them about it or forgive them for it. The alternative is to let it sit and fester until it helps foster paranoia and distrust... Until the imagined slights become too much to handle.
Conversely, don't ever assume that just because you put someone first, they will trust in your love for them. You can jump and run to see them every time you aren't otherwise occupied, can give them every moment that is wholly yours to give, and somehow they can still doubt what they mean to you.
Don't let space creep in between you. True, sometimes taking a step back when tempers flare is a good thing, or just a few moments to clear your head from the emotional pile up... But space and distance magnify every concern, every little missed message or stretch without hearing from one another builds up to become something bigger than it is.
Even now, I love and miss my ex-love terribly... It still hurts, all the more for not being able to understand what I am supposed to have done. How someone I still love could turn to hating me without any evil or hurtful intent.
Take care of each other, give those you love a hug and remind them that you do love them.
