So now that I am getting laid off because of AI, I need to go into job hunting mode and building a financial buffer in case I can't find employment quickly may be a good idea.

My job as a translator/subtitler has been deemed redundant because the rise of AI made quantity-over-quality subtitles too tempting for our higher-ups and keeping human linguistic creatives around was deemed a profit liability that has become too great to ignore. My coworkers and I are devastated.
