Good grief! It’s been forever and then some since I’ve dipped my whiskers in, hasn’t it? Geez.
Hello! I’m WhiteRat.
And no, I am not a rodent. Am cat. Big kitty. Custom critter.
And you’ll notice I’m also not pale in color, but grey! Mostly, at least.
Now that that’s outta the way, what else? Oh! If you haven’t gathered, I am a traditional & digital furry/anthro and animal artist! I started drawing furry art long before I even knew what Furries were. Started taking commission work back in 2019/2020 but then - well, we all know what happened.
In 2022 I became a mother and to make sure I really liked the position, I had a second in 2024. While I enjoy my title of mother of two, I’m exactly that - of TWO and no more. Don’t misunderstand, I love my cubs, they’re such blessings! But they're exhaustive blessings. Motherhood has also made me come to terms with my Bipolar and I’ve been receiving help for the past year. Toss in my husband into the mix and I feel like I’m raising four cubs!
Haha, I jest only slightly. My Husmutt is a remarkable father and we’re so lucky to have him. I’m the third child and I’m the hardest one to deal with!! <3
In reality, life is going really well - not perfect, but really well. And during this time away, I’ve realized just how much I miss drawing and taking commissions. I really miss y’alls’ creativity! And I miss helping bring that creativity to life. I suppose the short of it is:
I disappeared, had cubs, realized I was mental, got help, missed furries and am back!

Holy Fuck, WhiteRat’s Alive! (G)

It says four years since my last journal. Four. Years. Time flies, that’s for sure…
So, what’s there to say? Ummm….hmm.
I’ve been drawing more digitally. Drawing traditionally has proven damned near impossible with two cubs 3 and under. And the younger one certainly is a handsy lil buggar!!
I gave birth to a raccoon. 100% Brian is a raccoon. Good thing he’s so cute!! <3 Haeb, my eldest, is a good big bro, too. He tries his best to keep his lil brother out of trouble, but more often than not the raccoon’s influences totally wins over and they’re both getting into mischief. Haeb takes more after his parents - very cat-like, also loves fetch and dog kibble. *shrug* It’s that happy-go-lucky dog disposition that makes him easy to win over and I think Brian knows this.
Digital art is far more forgiving than plain pencil and paper. It’s a lot of fun, too! Once I got the paper texture screen protecter, doodling became much easier for me. I struggled so much with the slickness of the glass screen, but now that the pen tip has texture to glide over my hand feels more at home. Wonder if I’ll ever get used to just glass? Hmm…
At any rate, I’d love to type more, but I’ve a raccoon climbing all over me.
