Okay, I keep seeing people celebrate Osama's death. Sure, his was a hateful soul and he is dead but really, is all this shit necessary? I mean, shit, I'm lookin' around and it seems to me that a whole country is in jubilations over a person's death. I believe that death should never be celebrated. I don't care if it is Hitler's death. In the end the whole situation is just sad, not cause for joy. What is joyous about a soul being so hateful that an entire country's military might became focused on hunting him down, backing him into a corner, and slaying him like a dog? Yes, he was a man who consciously negatively affected other people's lives, sometimes ending them. I may even agree that his death will improve things. However, you have to look at this logically. Either retaliation against America will increase due to anger that we murdered Osama, or nothing much happens and he gets replaced.

I just have a hard time believing that the murder of Osama isn't primarily an act of vengeance, which is something I can't condone. I believe in mercy. That is a principle I value very highly. Granted, it is probably the principle I find most hard to live by, but I try nonetheless.

To be fair though, I also entertain the idea (quite liberally) that 9/11 was really a government conspiracy to rally the families of America against Bush's enemies, coloring my view of Osama's death somewhat. That is an argument for another day though.
