Dead Lands: The Chronicles of Wolfman Dingo
14 years ago
DINGO
In a post apocalyptic world nuclear fallout has created rare cases and genetic mutation. Dingo and Gear are from a more common, but still rare species known as lycterrianthropes. Struggling to live in a world feared and hated by humans, only the strong survive!
Dingo was abandoned as a pup, but was found and adopted by a family of three; his mother, his father, and his older brother. He was taken to their farm on the outskirts of the small town known as Dry Prong Texas where he was loved and raised. As time went by, Dingo and his brother became close doing everything together. As Dingo grew older his family began to notice that he was not your average wolf as he began to walk upright and speak fluently. His family saw it best to keep him on the farm from then on, knowing that he would not be accepted anywhere else.
Life was great until one day, one early morning. Dingo, about twelve now, sleeping in the barn was waken by the sound of light cracking, roar, and smell of something on fire. He raced out of the barn to find the main house up in flames and damn near burnt to the ground. As he round the side of the house he noticed something under the old oak tree near the front of the house. There was no preparing for what the young pup saw next. His mother, father, and big brother were hung upside down, stomachs sliced, and entails hanging down to a pile onto the ground. A short note was nailed to the tree reading: This family was guilty of aiding and housing a mutated beast. Let this be Warning to all who assist any unnatural abomination of the lands!"
Dingo snapped, something was bound to give. The following night Dingo went on rampage through the town killing everyone while they were asleep leaving no survivors in his wake. Dingo now roams the lands a changed being, bitter towards life and a bad taste towards humans with the rumors of the "Blood Prong Massacre" passed down from mouth to mouth reminding him of a past he tries so desperately to forget. His search for a new home rolls on as he tries to survive in this new world of kill of be killed, eat or be eaten...the world of Dead Lands.
GEAR
Gear was also adopted at a young age by an old man who ran a jiffy lube and mechanic shop. The shop was attached to the house so Gear was raised to be a grease monkey, just like his step dad. At around age 10 the old man died of sickness leaving Gear to fend for himself. With the shop shut down Gear still kept on tinkering and fixing things, becoming the youngest ace mechanic in the lands.
Living in a descent sized city, laws somewhat protected humans from killing Gear, but laws were made to be broken. Gear learned to become a survivalist, being abused and tortured by humans he still managed to take care of himself.
Even through the tough times Gear was able to maintain his good spirits and happy disposition, always seeing the glass as half full and never turning down a challenge. After being rescued from a crowed mockery one day by Dingo who was passing through, Gear would forever become a ball and chain to this hard ass loner growing more attached to each other over time.
