Thinking About What to Post Here
Hopefully I'm using journals correctly. I don't think I've ever used one to be honest and this journal is going to be mostly thoughts I'm jotting down at random and organizing afterwards. As you know my profile description has been "Something might happen here" for quite a while now.
So recently I have been thinking more about posting here on my FA. Although the posts would be either have some fun software to play with that I made or some interesting storytelling as I don't feel I am interested enough to push on in drawing. 3D modelling may be an interest of mine but I am still at that point where it feels like I've just started doing it and me putting it aside for weeks or even months isn't going to change that.
On the fun software side of things I have been working on this one program called "DragonStat" which is based on the equations in this post: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23737789/ (Hopefully this link works as I expect). Basically what I have been trying to make DragonStat do so far is calculate the current size of dragon based on how much they eat and how much of what they eat goes to growth throughout their lifetime. I was originally planning on making this for myself to calculate my canon dragon height at any given time because I plan for my height to grow bigger as time passes. There was one change that wanted to make and that is to make height calculated from paw to shoulder rather than paw to top of head when standing straight up. This program has been passed around from being programmed in C initially, to being programmed in Python with TKinter, to finally being programmed in Godot. I chose to program this software in the Godot game engine because of the portability and ease of use for GUI programming since my work with TKinter was an absolute mess.
As for the storytelling side of things, I feel like I would want to make a world that was similar to ShadowRun but like... less dystopia. I have been thinking about this on and off but more recently I have been thinking about starting off what the world is like and what the unique traits of the different species. Of course, kobolds and dragons will both be in this world prominently. I also thought about doing sort of like health reports of Techwing and a new female red dragon character named Emberroa. These health reports would include both an evaluation of both biological and magical aspects since I plan on magic being a very important part of of the world. I also plan for magic to be somewhat limited and measurable (as in there will be some way in this world to actually measure magic) to some extent.
Interestingly, I see Techwing as both my sona and a character. The sona and character parts being completely separate from each other though. I have been thinking about changing the name "Xalanth Darmith" since it did come out of a generator and I want to be more creative than that, that's why my ref sheet says "Techwing" rather than my account name. I do not think there is a way to change my account name for the time being so I'll stick with it for now. That being said "Emberroa" did also somewhat came out of a name generator I believe but I've changed the beginning and I feel I'm happy with it.
Feel free to leave a comment here about what you want to see. I think I'm planning on being more active here maybe.
