I've been away for forever... Wow.
Well, I'm back to make a post here on my all-but-dead profile. My brain just booted me down along memory lane again, so from that and a small stroke of boredom, I've decided to type out some self reflection into the void that is my FA profile.
"The more things change, the more things stay the same."
So since my last posts here, a good bit has changed. I ended up going to college, which I am in the middle of, nearing the end of my studies. I've been studying Game Design and Communications Studies as a dual major. My parents also going to soon be in the middle of their legal battle for divorce settlements, and both of them have new significant others, with my dad living a couple hours away, in a different state about 80% of the time.
Meanwhile, I've been working on myself, and I've definitely changed a lot. After a year at RPI, I finally felt truly proud of myself for once after many years. I've also gotten a lot more confident in my own ability to hold conversation, or at least I know much better my limits and how to manage them. Oddly, though, I'm still quite spooked by the idea of initiating conversation or asking to hang out with folks, or with the idea of really opening up to people I have met through classes and the likes. I can't quite pin down why, and it just seems odd to me.
I also ended up picking up glasses to be able to see a bit better at distance, since that was starting to become a problem for me in class. I'll have to get new art to reflect this -- or really any art -- once I'm not a broke college student.
Honestly, I'm still pretty much the same dorky furry geek that I've always been, but now with a bit more self confidence and a pair of glasses of +2 Nerdiness.
The furry side of things
Well, over the past couple years, I've made a number of decent friends, met lots of different furs, went to a convention, and even reconnected with an old furry friend of mine, who now is in college and works with the folks at FurScience, which is super cool.
I've had my FA page since 2012, so I've been in the fandom for about 6 years and every time I post about it, I always say it's been a crazy ride. It might seem cliche, but the more and more I've studied writing for games as my primary focus in college, the more I realize that tropes and cliches come about because they work repeatedly. So if it worked back then, it'll work now.
I guess to wrap things up, I might consider positing stuff I write here again, as a way to potentially motivate myself to write more in my own free time. I'm not terribly sure what else to put here, but thanks for reading if you got this far, haha.
