Well, it has been a busy couple of months. Just got back into town after helping a friend with a family emergency. Very tired and ready to settle for a little while.

Another birthday is upon me. This is probably the lowest point in my life at the moment and with the upcoming date, it leads me to contemplate the nature of things and the concept of purpose. This year has gone very quickly and it seems only yesterday I was standing on the roof of the hotel watching the fireworks for AC. I do not think we pay enough attention to the passing of time until the last few grains of sand fall to the bottom of that cosmic glass. I look back and evaluate; what have I accomplished? What have I lost? What have I gained? One side of those scales very full and the other empty. I wonder if I have enough time left for my hopes and dreams to coalesce?

The weight of the years lost feels very heavy as the sun sets on this day.
