A Difficult Choice
I reentered the furry fandom public shortly after my marriage imploded in early 2016. I've been pushing everything in this direction since then, making art for the fandom I've come to care about, and working to process my journey through that. As is stated in previous journals, I didn't always do a good job of sticking to that. Nevertheless, this fandom has been an amazing home.
My life trajectory is changing, though. I've gotten a full time teaching job, I'm in a committed relationship, and there's just generally far less time to put into art. As such, I've had to make some decisions about where the time I DO have will be going. Everyone who's watched me here has been amazing and supportive. I don't think I've ever had a negative experience with any of you. Still, with so little time now to pursue art, I have to choose carefully where that time gets spent.
I won't be posting anything here in the near future, as I'll be concentrating entirely now on my Patreon project, Age of the Rabbit. The link is below. I encourage you to check it out. The first post is open to everyone, as will be some others coming up.
Let me explain: This is the story I've been wanting to tell for years, and now I'm finally ready. I can't do it authentically any other way. Why Patreon? Well, because I stick to things a lot more if I feel like I owe it to someone. And when I've got people paying me, I do what needs doing. Sometimes to a fault, or the detriment of other obligations.
That's another big piece of it. I could push for more time in furry art, but I'd be sacrificing the time I use to keep myself sane. There's few things as challenging as your first year teaching, and when you're doing grad school and finishing up part time work on top of that, it gets even stickier.
I'm really excited for how this project is going so far. The first two full chapters are up, and you can read them for just $2 per month. $5 per month or more gets you access to the art I produce for each chapter, and there's lots of other incentives as well, going up from there. But enough shilling. Thank you for your attention, and I'll see you back here in the summer, maybe.
Peace out, kiddos.
