So, I'm gonna cut to the brass tax here. I have a lot of story ideas, and I can't decide on which one to dedicate my time to first because I have vague premises in mind for all of them. This calls for the usual solution: democracy!

I wrote several of my most dominant ideas and cut out the ones that I didn’t really care for as much (as first projects, not as projects altogether) until I had a few left. Spoilers: they’re all centered around furry inflation.

I'm going to belt off about all of them in this journal, and then I'll post a link to a StrawPoll so you can decide which ones you'd like me to do first. To be honest, I don’t even think I’ll follow through on what the final vote is, but it’d be fun to see what you’d be interested in anyways.

All of these ideas would be for like, novel-length stories, because I see a lot of short stories with inflation and wouldn't mind writing a full-length story centered around it.

Idea 1: BALLOONACY

When a well-meaning but ditzy calico accidentally unleashes a contagious agent that causes people to inflate like balloons, she and her scientist friend have to find a cure before all of furrykind is infected, all the meanwhile the world is getting puffier and more chaotic every day.

So this is a contagious inflation kind of story; like a pandemic thriller but with funny haha inflation moments. Specifically, I imagine everyone puffing up into having big bubble bodies. Think of that "roly-poly" episode of Enma-kun or whatever it was called, but without the uncomfortable amount of minor characters. Oh, and the ditzy calico and her scientist friend are Moxy and Vixy.

Idea 2: GLOBOMANCER

In a fantasy kingdom, a peasant discovers a cursed gauntlet that gives her the ability to turn people into living balloons with a single touch of her claw. She uses the gauntlet to overthrow the kingdom and reshape it in her own image, attracting the attention and concern of a neighboring kingdom.

Yeah, this totally isn't based on the villain from Catnapped. I thought that her balloon touch powers were really interesting and underutilized (but that's just the horny speaking), and I'd love to write a story where it's front and center.

Idea 3: GLOBOS

When an artificial intelligence system comes to her final conclusions on how to protect and comfort furrykind, she decides that the best course of action is to inflate and imprison the world's population. In a major city, an irresponsible and unemployed man escapes the initial takeover, and must join a resistance against the AI to free furrykind.

You've probably seen my past pieces on Globos back in ~2024, but I haven't done enough with her yet (like all the damn ideas on this list...). This would be like a robot apocalypse story but with furry inflation. Think of that one episode of Moeyo Ken, but with drones and happening everywhere.

Idea 4: SKYDRIFTER

A bunny woman is given an experimental serum made from pufferfish DNA which gives her the power to inflate and deflate her body like a balloon. Her new abilities attract the attention of a balloon-obsessed control freak who wants to use the same serum to inflate all of furrykind.

Yep, a story dedicated entirely to a self-inflatable superhero and an inflation-based supervillain (who, in case you couldn't tell, is my OC Blowout). I will say that out of all these stories, I have the most “complete” plot idea for this one, but it’s your choice what story you’d like to see first.

Idea 5: XPAN

A writer and her lover are on vacation when an unknown cosmic event causes everyone on the planet to start inflating on a cellular level, and they have to find out what's causing the event, return home amidst the collapse of social order, and reverse the event before all of furrykind pops into confetti.

Basically like Balloonacy, but instead of being contagious, it's already global and is just intensifying over time. This scenario would be like, global and gradual inflation, where furrykind is collectively getting bigger and puffier by the day until they'd become like, uber-inflated (more like living parade floats).
