Furry Fiesta Luthien Badge by Michele Light
ATTENTION: NOT MY ART!!!
I commissioned this from
at Furry Fiesta this weekend, and it turned out so adorable I couldn't help but share with you guys. n_n Michele's work is always so darn cute, and I've wanted to see my girls in her style for a long time now - so naturally, I jumped on the chance to commission a badge of Luthien from her! Thank you Michele for the lovely badge, I will display it proudly along with the rest of my collection. <3
And since I'm already here, talking about Furry Fiesta, here's my recap for those interested:
Overall I had a pretty good time, I was a little bit lost simply because this was my first hotel convention (besides F3 but that one was so tiny, it was like...training wheels for this one lol) and there's SO much going on pretty much ALL the time. Its very easy for a first-timer to get overwhelmed. 0uo But luckily I had a good group of friends to help me find my way around (quite literally, I would have got lost in that hotel several times!) and also to hang out with. n_n I didn't really attend any events or go to any panels, I was too busy chasing everyone else around or just doing my own thing. Made it out and about with my wings a couple times, if you saw a girl with pink hair and faerie wings that was me. ;D
I rode up there with my schmoopie-schmoop
on Friday morning, the drive wasn't too terribly long and we made good time, arriving at the hotel at about 12:30. We shared a room with
and
, and spent most of the time around them and also these guys:
,
,
,
and also bumped into some of my favorite furs on occasion:
and
. Also met various other people who's names I can't recall now. >u<
I have to tell you about the sushi...OMG. So, on Friday night, a bunch of us decided to take a brisk little walk down the block for sushi. The place we originally intended to eat at was closed for a private party so we had to go just a little further, but it ended up being SO worth it. We found this sushi buffet called Mr. Sushi, and it had EVERYTHING - all you could stuff yourself with, for the low price of about $30 per person. lol Not a place I'd eat at all the time (or I'd go broke) but definately someplace you should check out if you're ever in the area. ;D The only thing I didn't like was the roll with octupus and some mystery ingredient that was REALLY spicy. lol
I think I have to say my favorite feature of the con was the hot tub. lol My apartment complex doesn't have one, so its been a very long time since I've had a good relaxing soak. And its even better when your buddies are around you making you laugh so hard you almost drown. (Looking at you, Zeeka!)
I also really loved getting to spend time with my dragon, I'm eternally grateful to have found someone who takes me places and does things with me and gets me out there where I can experience life again. Even if it sometimes takes me outside my comfort zone. Pach, I love you babe, you're deserving of all the spoilin' you get. ;D
The last big thing I remember was the fursuit parade - now, I'm used to the little dinky ones they have at the camping cons, but this one was HUGE - furs kept filing out of the room and I was reminded of the clown cars, where you start to wonder how they all fit in there in the first place. Saw some pretty darn awesome suits and yes....I may be just a tiny bit curious about getting one someday. SOMEDAY. When I can afford it. Cuz I'm gonna want something in the Clockwork Creature range, and that's gonna require some savin'. For now, keeping my eyes open for styles I like. Feel free to recommend. ;D
I'm back home now and kinda relaxing, winding down, and also preparing for the week ahead, deciding on some art stuff I want to do. A lot of you have asked about commissions and YES I will be opening for some more soon, but I have a special St. Patties Day theme idea I want to use, so I'm gonna try and whip up an example for that first. :3
Next con is Wild Nights, and its a mere 2 months away, so looking forward to it now. :D Until then...back to reality! Bust out the markers and pencils, there's work to be done. <u<'
