In order for a film to attain cult status, it cannot make it on its own(though it may try). Rather, it is up to the audience to create the following. Anything can really become a cult film and there are various kinds of cults. There's the mainstream macro cults like the Godfather; then there's the midcult followings such as Star Wars, and then there's the micro cults like Tron. Our focus for the class is on the Micro Cults.

Micro Cults are often the strongest but smallest of these followings. They are founded around films which were generally poorly received and/or did not do well in the box office. They are also often offensive, notorious, countercultural, and most of all, angry, angry films. While not all micro cult films fall into this category, there certainly seems to be a lot of these such as Taxi Driver,Do the Right Thing, exploitation films of every genre, horror movies, and many many more.

For my Cult Film Class, I am to make a film attempting Cult Status. To me, this was the perfect chance to come up with a film using tribal furries...sort of. Without further ado, I pitch to you all my upcoming project: Dust Thou Forsake Me.

Dust Thou Forsake Me is an avant-garde fantasy adventure focusing around fox-headed Dust and his companion, Nobody. Together, they journey through limbo to end the conflict between the savage Carnals and the cruel Wretched by stealing the sacred scriptures of The Way. Dust's only motivation for doing so is Nobody's promise for it bringing about the End of the World. It is a film speaking of the meaninglessness of traditions and the misconceptions of faith.

Currently, it's only  Thornbrier and I working on this, but we're looking for other local furs to come in and work on this. For those who do, I so happen to have a synopsis. Come one, come all!
