Never played Shining Force Exa due to rather lacking interest in Neo, but that looks like a rather badass character.

You should, it's a considerable improvement over NEO (even the voice acting is somewhat better XD). Plus you can say you played the last Shining ever localized with EXA. :)

I guess, but there are other Shining games I haven't yet played that I'd probably rather play instead. Still want to play Shining the Holy Ark, and am also waiting for the fan translation to be finished of the Shining Force 3 scenarios.

A shame we have to resort to fan translations. I still want to play Wind.

Yeah, but it's better than nothing. I don't know anything about Wind, since I tend to not really follow games that don't get released here. Shining Force 3 would probably be the same way with me if the first scenario hadn't been released here, and got my attention. I've owned it for years, but have never beaten it. I got to the final battle (or so I assume), but then got too discouraged to finish because all I could think about was how I wouldn't be able to continue the story afterwards.

Don't know why they ever pulled a stunt like that with SF3. Why release one and not the others? Foolishness.

I agree. They might as well have not even bothered with the first one.

Seriously. I guess it doesn't matter to our Sega branch since the Shining series is dead here. -_-

Yeah, it's a shame. I even recall a Game Informer issue that did an article on the odds of certain franchises seeing sequels anytime soon. For the Shining series, they rated it 1/1 for Japan, but about 1/1,000 (don't recall exactly) for over here. Sadly, it was the only series in the article where they listed different odds for here and there.

I have that issue. The odds were 100:1 for the U.S.

Duga was always awesome, though I preferred Garyu myself. Nicely done. :)
