These photos are actually 2 or 3 years old now, but I had in that time period lost my own photo files for the event... happily, a friend of mine emailed me a zip with ALL of them for my birthday. ^___^ So here are three that actually predate the UV tentacle backpiece: a "garden of eden" by request of the girl on the left; flaming spiral of doom; and poofy fruity girlwings (on my male friend, not by his request, bwaha).
All are freehand airbrushed onto skin, using UV-reactive acrylics shown under blacklight. If you have the equipment, materials and people, I highly recommend painting on one another in this fashion. :D It's enlightening and stuff.

Faintly... though it's about the difference between hilighter on skin in normal light vs. blacklight: it's not the same effect, sometimes it even looks kind of gross (mostly when you use a regular brush and things get blobby... airbrush is smoooooth so if anything, you can usually barely see this airbrushing under normal light).
Yeah, sadly it's carcinogenic from what I hear. I met a girl once with a tiny star on her wrist that glowed, but I think she did it herself with a needle and hilighter ink. Not exactly clean or profressional! Nor feasable for anything much bigger than a dime, I imagine. This star was even smaller than that.
D: That is soooo cooooool looking. Like...amazing. I didn't know that was possible or maybe I just never thought of it.
I really love that negative space you used for the tree and stuff. That's really awesome. And how bright that swirly thing is. Those wings...ahhh<3 These are so pretty.

Wow ... Those wings are like what I want to get. I really want to get UV reactive wings tattooed on my shoulders (because the wings are supposed to be white, but I'm black so they won't go in well). Aside from the possible carcinogenics of it, I hear they also fade out within a year or so. :/
Oh, I've heard of Chameleon Ink actually. :P When I was doing my own research. But there's the still question of how fast it fades. Wouldn't want to sink a couple of hundred into my back and shoulders and have it gone within a year, you know?
Hm ... I have a friend with a UV tattoo on her chest. I should ask her how it looks since it's been over a year since I've seen it.

http://www.crazychameleon-inc.com/b.....attoo-ink.html I guess i dont have to hope anymore XD
I have an Iwata Eclpise dual-action airbrush, retail was about $199 I think. I was lucky to get that as a gift, though, along with the compressor (not sure what the cost was, but I'm guessing less than $40, cause it's loud and, if you don't suction cup it to the floor, it travels. XD)
The paint is a little easier to come by... Liquitex Fluorescent Acrylics work fine for this, thinned down to about half water, and are about $6 per (woefully small 2oz) bottle. You'll need 4-5 bottles to get all the colors, but one bottle will last quite awhile.
And lights are super easy; cheapest option is a Home Depot $12.99 blacklight (CRAPPY fixtures, though), second-cheapest would be the $20 ones you get at Spencer Gifts or Hot Topic at a mall. You can also get the blacklight tubes (up to 48"!) and put them in an existing fixture. I also have several clamp-lamps with spiral UV bulbs (like a compact fluorescent, but blacklight), which is about $10 for the lamp and $8 for the bulb.
Hope that helps!
