In Darkest Woods, a shining grove, come trees from foul earth.
But deeper still, a promise made of glory and rebirth.
A granted wish to those who deign upon the fruit to taste.
But stay thy hand, ambitious one. Your hunger is misplaced!
So sweet a thing, it seems. Upon yon branch, a plumping fruit.
But look now to the darkness crawling from the blackened roots.
The grasping ones loved only self, slew both their friend and kin.
For but a taste, they traitors were, consumed now by their sin.
Now here they lay, forever stretching upward, out of reach.
But now, they serve as cautioned lessons for us here to teach.
They sought to eat the fruits of labors they did not deserve.
As warnings to the wicked now, here in death they serve.
Give thee not in to greed and lust, lay not your hands upon
the fruits of labors not your own, a thing of evil spawned.
