((How my character came to be a brown Charmeleon. Hope you like it.))
Corruption of Fire
It was but a normal day. A Charmander was enjoying a batch of berries he had collected. Nothing seemed wrong for a time in the forest. Everything seemed perfect. ...Until they came along.
Dressed in white armor, almost like they were cyborgs of some kind, were some humans who simply took pleasure burning what they pleased. They were capturing Pokemon right and left, and placing them in some containers. One of these cyborg-like humans was very muscular and had this sort of power to him.
The Charmander was caught in the middle of the blaze feeling scared. He felt a surge of memory flow through him, the images of his parents dying before him. He did not want to see that again, so he ran... Ran as fast as he could. But the humans were too fast for him and eventually he was caught along with every other Pokemon.
The poor Fire type was thrown into a storage facility of some kind, along with other Pokemon. It was dimly lit and full of other Pokemon. Some were scared, like he was; others stayed calm and collected; and a few felt life was not worth living anymore. The Charmander felt alone... Scared... Confused...
Weeks had passed, Pokemon were poorly fed and forced through a series of intense training, some dying from the pain and suffering they were enduring. The Charmander remained alive for as long as he could manage, eventually being on top of the rest. Despite his bruises, he remained in one piece.
Charmander was taken by the goons who brought him to his hell hole to an even stranger facility. It had a single tank of green liquid as well as a series of pipes and wires coming from it. Charmander was confused, even when he saw multiple humans in lab coats holding clipboards walking around.
The cyborg human spoke to the lab coat human, presumeably the chief, but unfortunately, Charmander could not hear. He was still too frightened to even bother. He just wanted to go home. Before he could dare to escape, the cyborg human grabbed Charmander by the neck and threw him into the single tank full of green goo.
Lucky for Charmander his tail flame did not go out when it entered the liquid, but he still found this very cruel. As if that wasn't bad enough, he felt sick to his stomach, but not because of the green liquid nor the fact he was captured. He was snapped out of this thought when wires suddenly entered his arms, legs, tail, and head. A pipe situated itself on his heart. He felt fear and a great pain, his mind was racing with questions.
A lab coat human signalled another to pull a lever of some kind. This sent electrical shocks all across Charmander's body making him want to scream in peril. However, he could not. He could only struggle. Finally, that strange feeling was maximized. His body was enveloped in a bright white light. His body had changed shape. He was no longer a small lizard; he was now a larger dragon-like lizard, a Charmeleon.
However, his genetics were disrupted, forever changed. His skin became brown, his belly turned violet. His tail flame changed from orange, red, and yellow to blue and yellow. The pipe seemed to be trying to inject some sort strange stuff into his heart.
Before it could, the Charmeleon finally took charge of his situation and pushed the pipe off his chest. His strength seemed unnatural, almost like he was a legendary Pokemon. He growled as he ripped the wires out of his veins, ignoring the pain it caused him. The humans in lab coats started to panic as they saw this performance. One threw a switch, causing electricity to surge in the tank. The Charmeleon simply absorbed this energy like an Electric type Pokemon in a power plant. With a loud roar, he punched the tank open, flooding the room with the disgusting liquid and causing the humans to fall on the floor.
The Charmeleon ran out of the room, avoiding whatever security measures the humans had. When Fire Pokemon were sent, they were doused by a Surf attack, which the Charmeleon did not know he knew; any Water types were taken down with Thundrbolt, using the electricity he absorbed. And stronger Pokemon were defeated with a combination of Blast Burn and Aura Sphere. He did not know how, but the Charmeleon just knew he had these moves and were using them effectively. This corruption gave him abilities that any natural Fire Type should not have. Using Blast Burn, the Charmeleon blasted a hole through the wall and managed a daring escape, running in the trees, and losing the humans once and for all.
Hours after his encounter, he wandered around, alone. He was not sure if his adoptive parent would recognize him in his state. She was probably worried sick for him, but at this point, he was very relunctant. He soon found a boulder. It seemed good enough to sit on so he decided to rest on it while he thinks about his next move. If he returned home, would his foster mom recognize him? Or would she just reject him?
"Hi," said a voice close by.
The Charmeleon jumped startled and looked to who was acknowledging him. It was a normal Croconaw, female judging by the eyelashed. Despite most opinions on Croconaws, this one seemed beautifully...different. She sat beside the Charmeleon.
"You are quite a sight. Its nice to meet you," she said happily.
The Charmeleon smiled a little.
"Do you have a name?" she then asked.
The Charmeleon was relunctant to just answer to a complete stranger, but she seemed nice enough. He inhaled deeply and responded, "My name...is Dale."
