made a sculpt. thought it was okay. sculpted all of the little hairs/ grip hairs into it. realized it was not nearly okay. looked up more references. resculpted. now I just have to re-hair the whole thing v.v
Nose is white because it is made of unbaked polymer clay (sculpey) :) I do that so that after the blank mold is made (silicone mold) I cut the nose off and make a plaster mold of the nose to create silicone counterparts as an option! :)
"yeah Crys, that's nice but why does it need to be sculpey?" well I'll tell you!
I've found that sculpey/polymer clay stays together better when you're pulling the sculpture out of the mold than the plasetline does. I have had horrible horrible situations of well, spending HOURS scraping out plasteline pieces from plaster molds. It's an absolute nightmare :C
I am remaking my wolf base for a few reasons:
1) the older wolf base I created was just too small facewise.
2) the older wolf base's muzzle was just a bit too short. Causing many to say "ooh! looks like a bear"! -_-
Mostly those lol. and I have a new hinge style as well :) sturdier thicker better.
I'm always trying to make things better :c which is the reason I have a hard time letting things go as I'm never happy enough with things or feel the need to immediately start all over very quickly.
No orders for this guy will be taken until my lot of resin blank orders is completed! SPEAKING OF. To anyone that might want to change their blank order to this wolf design shoot me a note!
but anyways, he's almost done. just need to hair him up and take a few more pictures so people can nit-pick at how I sculpted him to make sure he's at a consensus of "yay" or "nay fix this"
Dang he looks so sad 8C
