So, yeah, I totally commissioned her for this pic. I'm gonna put it on a T-shirt as soon as I have some cash.

You're making yourself a target and being too aggressive with something that is taboo (diapers). It's only to serve your own ego and need to be the centre of attention, with no regard for how your over-extravagant expression will colour other people's views on those of us who would rather remain under the radar. A case of the extreme becoming the public perception of a group as a whole.
I've never understood this point of view. Even if we allow that something as innocuous as a t-shirt bearing a diapered pony would be enough to set the villagers after him with torches and pitchforks, how does this affect anyone but him and the people he's close to?
This is a fetish, we're not some recognizable demographic who can be discriminated against politically and there are exactly zero ramifications to anyone who practices this lifestyle in the privacy of their own home. So, unless you plan on being a spokesman for our little practice, as you've implied you have no intention of doing, you will remain happily under the radar just as you would have if Stary declined to wear a shirt with a diapered pony on it. The people who will be violently disgusted at such displays would have been equally indignant at the most clinical documentary-style treatment of our lifestyle anyway, so it's not as if this changes anything in any way regarding perceptions or the popularity of our fetish.

I am not concerned with those that would be "disgusted" at the mere idea. As the saying goes, haters gonna hate. This, however, is an in-your-face statement which is off-putting to those that are more neutral, not unlike people who would be ambivalent to the brony fanbase if they didn't stage hostile takeovers of Youtube comments (amongst other sites) with circlejerking "Hoofbump!" comments that have absolutely nothing to do with the video itself.
And you think those who were rational enough not to have a conniption over the idea of adults wearing diapers will become more prone to such feelings because of a self consciously silly cartoon character on a t-shirt? Actually, I think a diapered pony could be a decent conduit to common ground with strangers. I mean, cartoon characters are at least expected to be cute, and it's a damn sight easier to sell tolerance through something with a preexisting connection to cuteness/innocence than a portrayal of actual abdl's, which is immediately alienating and unfamiliar. Have you seen 15 Stone Babies? It's reasonably fair and not sensationalistic. Most of the comments which aren't from abdl's are uniformly negative - even those who claim to be otherwise 'tolerant'.
Further, I find the brony thing a poor analogue. Wearing a diapered pony on your shirt in public is not commensurate with invading other people's private spheres and obnoxiously co-opting their interests. It's more like wearing a shirt, actually. People commonly claim that bronies wearing pony shirts is tantamount to rubbing their weird obsession in others' faces, but such comments stem from those who already have a distaste for the show/fandom and what it represents generally. Everyone knows creeps exist, and no one worth worrying about is going to suddenly become hostile when they're confronted with a silly representation of an aberrant interest. Those who hate will indeed continue to do so, and those who are perceptive enough to realize something is fun and harmless will keep calm and canter on.

That comment could have been used for any old taboo that is now accepted in public. Replace Diapers with Tattoos and wind the clock back 100 years and your statement would be the same.
Yes I just compared diaper fetish with tattoos. Yes I realize how ridiculous that is. No I'm not sorry, because the point is valid.

So longevity is the reason for the modern acceptance of tattoo's? That is dreadful logic. Social views and customs are not static things, that is my point. What was once viewed with contempt and disgust can and has been viewed with a degree of normalcy. I'm not saying diaper fetish will someday soon become accepted in public, I'm just just pointing out your faulty logic. You seem to think that which the majority of the public deems inappropriate should be kept underground. I provided one instance, out of numerous many, where enough people displaying their subculture for the world to see - by keeping to themselves and being otherwise respectful in displaying a part of who they are - were eventually vindicated and found acceptance, or at least tolerance.
And for those who don't like it; too bad.
And for those who don't like it; too bad.
And you missed my point entirely. Multiple times. No one likes others rubbing their face in a fetish or religion or show that they don't care for. With the subject matter, this effect is multiple by the nth power. It casts a poor light, one person being too overeager to share their strange obsession while the whole group suffers for their indiscretion.
No one said the road to acceptance doesn't come with hardship. Ask homosexuals how much they had to ensure these past 1000 years or so to get where they are.
I didn't miss your point, I got it loud and clear. I merely choose to not agree with your conclusion. Because I personally don't care if people want to be open about something I like in secret. If you want to, that's your prerogative. By all means, despise someone for taking pride in something taboo. Not like it will change anything.

Yeah, so what if I'm making myself a target? What does it have to do with you? It's not like we have mutual friends who might find out about you because they saw me in such a shirt or something. So let me ask again:
What exactly is your problem? Why do you care if I want to have a cute shirt with a padded pony on it? What does it have to do with you?
