again, disregard the beetle's proportions. all those round shapes make for a tricky car to draw, especially without reference. :)
enjoy, people!

Wow. And here I didn't think you'd go ahead and draw a car there. That happens to be pretty impressive! Not just landscapes does she work, but motor vehicles as well. x)
Moving from that, the theme here is what I happen to like. The use of someone's grandmother happens to be a VERY nice and calming theme in an illustration. Mind you, it's not too often that someone used a grandmother as an artistic theme. It's heartwarming.
Plus the background happens to suit. It's like.. a small city and car pulled up in front of a house while stopping by. Nothing too fancy here. But that's exactly what makes it so good- That it's not supposed to be! You don't expect to have a grandmother driving a Ferrari and high styled high rises in the background. No! You're expecting to have a down to Earth elderly woman here that you're happy to see stop by and THAT is what's captured in this. That's what I enjoy here.
This is a great work. In absolutely honestly, this is truly a fine work~

thank you!
if you go back through my galery you will find a '57 chevy, a '71 Mustang Mach 1 and a '72 Thunderbird. only the beetle above and the chevy were done without using direct references...
automobiles aren't that easy to draw, combining even lines with round shapes, and very exact lines, too.
you nailed my thoughts on using just the scenery you mentioned down straight. of course, there could have been some ferrari or stuff, but it wouldn't have fitted. I don't know Locutus' granny myself, but I know him. and from his brief descriptions she is a strong, active woman caring for her family.
