Concerning the prospect of limb substitutions, there are two primary courses of resolution: biological and mechanical (or perhaps a more fitting nomenclature, "biological v. mechanical"). Biological replacement of lost limbs is often the safest and surest path to recovery, but is initially more expensive than the procedure of fusing living tissue with clockwork. Both are subject to long terms of follow-up maintenance (one indefinitely so), but of the two only biological poses the ever-present threat of complete physiological rejection.
In the case of Mr. Thadeus Crom, whose left wing and arm met with the unfortunate fate of explosive machinery, the path of mechanical limb replacement was the preferred option, despite the fervent opinion of friends, family, and doctors alike. It is nothing short of impressiveness that the once-thought permanently ground gryphon can once more traverse the skyline on his clockwork wing thanks to the craftsmanship of amateur and prodigy, Quinn "Jumu" Orcanis.

pyrostinger told me to draw a character of mine with Steampunk, and since I already drew my orca dude in such a theme (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/4785940) I figured "Why not?" and completely redid his design. Perhaps I gave him a bit too much muscle and not enough of the actual genre, but such is my attention to detail. And since Pyro is a longtime friend of mine, I added him into the picture as well.
My first time drawing a gryphon, which was for Gyphon Month on FA (in my defense, I finished the gryphon himself in the last hours leading up to March 1st, but only completed this piece today).
Yes, that is just a wrench in his pocket; yes, he is still happy to see you.
