A Secret Place by Dwale pulls a stallion from his technologically-advanced but socially-stratified urban life to a nursery run by his wheelchair-bound aunt in a forgotten corner of the land. When not working in the greenhouses, she teaches him the nearly-forgotten romantic language of flowers, and he struggles with feelings that society considers taboo.

Although this is an illustration for the seventh story in "Hot Dish", it was the first illustration of the series that I did. This picture, like the others I've been uploading recently, will appear as companions to a variety of short stories in Sofawolf's "Hot Dish" anthology, which will debut at FWA next month!

Lol, I am actually insanely slow with greyscale! Maybe because I have to get the grey tone down just PERFECT and I think in color better than in grays? I redo everything 129832324 times. That picture I just fininshed on my page in greyscale took like 3 times as long as my last full size color thing. XD
I couldn't help but give in to how romantic everything is in this scene you've put together. The hairstyling, the well-dressed clothes, flowers, almost kind of melodramatic, but you've also made it a little more moody with the greyscale and it's won me over. Plus you're great at drawing horse characters.
...that looks like quite an uncomfortable right-angled table there too.
