Well, the world is a post-apocalyptic world, where they was experimenting with uplift, as well as A.I.. a 'terminator' event happen, and all hell broke loose. After many, many decades underground and living on the surface while the nuclear winter eased the humans and uplifted animals (Pasu) came together to try to rebuild the world.
This takes place so far in the future, that the events that happened are now legends and myth (several thousand years) So it's somewhat a mix of midevil, wild west with human/pasu. It's becoming quite popular as well. It's also designed AS a RP system complete with the di software.
If your interested try www.wintersoasis.com and I would recommend Trebuchet mu* client. It works in Windows, and linux and works very well. Actually the only one I've ever used since I started.
If you come on, check for Kelketek, and Tora and there should be someone there to at least speak too.
See also if Kantuck, or Abequa is on as well I may be in the gaming area.

Well, I would get a good MU* client - Trebuchet is one I find works well. Then come to: http://www.wintersoasis.com/ and look though the site. It can answer a lot of questions for you. When you come by the actual MU*, be sure to tell Tora, or Kelketek, Kantuck invited you over, and to p #mail me. If I'm on the system I'll run by.

Oh yes. it's like a frame RP. One person can be the games master, set in that environment and just invite players to join. We have multi-day RPs going on all the time. Several times they're used to write whole stories and books too.

That's one thing I'm not totally sure of yet. I have only made a sporadic inquires about setting up a RP game and being the GMs (mistresses? :) but I haven't really worked out details. I haven't had the time lately. Maybe a bit later when I have my studies off my back.
I do recall however, that some GMs say use an alternate if you don't wish for them to 'die' I really cannot see why that would be a problem but I do keep a number of alternates that I use only for RPs - such as Abequa. The oddity of being a perminate death in a game system is a bit odd, as there is no real continuity. So I may be missing something here.

Thank you! Yes, I've been RPning there for about two years I believe. I was also helpful in some small way in building it. Right now there is one major RP ending if I remember, and small ones pop up constently. But I think now we're coming to the point where larger and larger RPs are starting
The people there are exceptional people. As a female on other MU*s I was constantly harassed by no-lifers. Winter's Oasis males are far better, so don't worry about that.
