Y'know what the hardest thing was? Not cleaning everything up. I did my damndest to keep myself from dusting away all the leftover bits. Cartooning is HARD!! Fuck I had no idea. Really like the swooshy stuff going on at the bottom of the picture too, makes a good contrast with the top full-o-smallish-detail'y part.

Learning to tighten up only where it's necessary, and let everything else fall away, has been about as big a lesson (and as hardfought) as learning not to kill my paintings. Now I want to get fast at this shit! ARGH.

I digs the ink tools in Painter, man. Between them and the eraser tools, there's a bunch of scratching you can do.

I like the sketchy, scratchy texture lines. I think that makes the picture for depth and all that rot.

VERY high praise, sir: thank you. These pieces are right from the seat of my pants. I just start hammering in shapes, usually with some kind of music playing, and let my mood dictate where I push the shapes. That's probably why it takes me longer than normal. I'm not going in with anything specific in mind.

The broken lines everywhere and the scratchy, psycho-woodblock feeling they give me is awesome - it's like a portrait of a person in the middle of an anxiety attack.
