Name: Brixton
Species: : Norway rat, black mismarked blazed Berkshire variety
Age:: 5 months
Weight:: 765 grams
Birthplace:: Brixton
Eye colour:: blue
Markings: Pure black with a white blaze up his face, white 'socks' on his front feet only, and a white V shape on his chest. He has a pink tip to his tail.
Extras:: Brixton has what are termed in the rat fancy as 'hat ears'. These are rats with normal, top ears (i.e., not dumbos) that are not quite in the right place on their head, and make it look like the rat is wearing a hat which has pushed them down to the sides (hence the name) His coat is extremely shiny and flat, and his white markings are always as white as can be. He is immaculately presented at all times. He is a very large rat.
General::
Brixton was bred by a hobby breeder who hoped to show her rats. However, Brixton's markings were not show quality and this, coupled with the hat ears, meant that she decided to sell him as a pet instead. Brixton lived in this pet home for a few months, with a cage mate who did not particularly like him. They rarely came to blows, but the one occasion they did resulted in Brixton having his nose broken by his attacker.
Following this, the owner decided to remove the attacker. This left Brixton alone so his owner went to the local pet shop and picked up a skinny, bullied little rat from the feeder bin as a companion for him. That'll be Qwerty, then.
Brixton took to Qwerty and, as qwerty was a bit younger, would look after him.
Brixton is extremely intelligent, and Qwerty is......not. As such, Brixton felt it was his duty to take care of things, sort out any problems that may arise, and generally be the brains of the outfit.
He is perfectly happy to serve Qwerty, and always refers to him as 'sir', never by name.
However, despite his seemingly submissive role, he is actually the one in charge. His enormous brain power means he can cunningly manipulate Qwerty into things without Qwerty even realising. Brixton has been called upon to get Qwerty out of some sticky situations several times in the past, and Qwerty always refers back to him if he needs advice.
However, Brixton does not play the role of total submission; he has refused orders from Qwerty in the past if he disagrees with them.
In the end, Qwerty always seems to relent to Brixton's wishes, even without realising it, another nod to the fact that it is Brixton who is REALLY in charge.
Brixton is extremely well spoken, and uses long complicated words, perhaps sometimes intentionally to confuse others. He can be somewhat sarcastic, and will often express his distaste for something Qwerty has said with a sarcastic 'indeed, sir' or 'very good, sir.'
He is also obsessive about cleanliness, and likes everything to be perfect. Were he human, he'd likely be diagnosed with a mild OCD about neatness and order.
He is a large rat, but despite this he moves with elegance and grace and is very light on his feet.
He isn't averse to either smoking or drinking, but would never do them in front of his master.
He is constantly despairing of Qwerty for being so slovenly, devil-may-care and unconcerned with his appearance. Brixton hopes one day to turn Qwerty into a fine, upstanding young rat that others will respect, but he often feels he is fighting a losing battle.
He has sabotaged all of Qwerty's budding relationships with females, cunningly and so no-one is even aware it is he who has done so, because he knows that if a woman entered the picture, he would probably be usurped as Qwerty's companion.
Brixton's own love life is inactive to non existant. He is a handsome rat, and often has girls come on to him, but he tends to be rather awkward when they do, and usually gives them the brush off asap.
Brixton is very stoic, and very robotic. He keeps his emotions very much in check and does not consider it proper to express too much. He is particularly robotic around Qwerty as he feels he needs to be professional. He tends to use facial expressions to express himself, and Qwerty is somewhat good at deciphering these.
Brixton has never yet been seen to be angry, and would certainly consider outbursts of rage to be uncivilised and uncouth. He keeps everything inside and rarely seems to be flustered about anything.
Although he seems practically perfect in every way, he is actually a somewhat dark character with obvious control issues that he just happens to be genius enough to mask so few would ever know. In the past, he became distressed enough to have to leave the room merely because of the scruffy appearance of one of Qwerty's friends. Lapses in the personal grooming of others seems to offend and upset him far, far more than anything that menial should.
Hence, Brixton has issues. We'll just never know why or how.
