This isn't a story - this is simply an exploration of my life's philosophy. I ask that you please read the entire thing before condemning or praising me. This was very difficult for me to write - and I apologize for its broken nature. But I simply had to say it. Comments, discussion and debate is not only welcome, it is encouraged. I love a good debate, as I've found that it's the only way for me to discover and deepen what I truly believe. I also ask that you all please try to tolerate and accept my beliefs. They are not popular, but they are mine nonetheless.

"Anubian Afterlife is based on the premise of love - the protagonists share love for one another in a way that sadly is missing in our modern lives today. Say hello to a stranger on a street and you'll get either some muttering about how bad a day it is or a frightened scowl and possibly even a police inquiry. Fear has supplanted love in our modern society."
I'm a bit more optimistic in this area, I believe most people are kind enough to return a smile and 'Hello'. Even if it's done with a bit of suspicion towards you. That's the way you should be with strangers though, kind, but still guarded, just in case they are one of the bad apples. Of course it's the assholes that stick out the most, and it's easy to let them skew your view.
It's too bad you let other people convince you that your urges were wrong, and spent so long suffering for it. But I hope, now that you are liberated of that conflict, you can truly enjoy being yourself. Especially when being yourself includes all the 'perversion' we've come to love you for =)

Well, that's a relieving reply. Thanks for your kind words - I really do appreciate it. As far as other people...admittedly, you are right - it is the jerks who stand out. I simply try to be that much in the opposite direction and hope it works. ;)
As for what other people convinced me of, I hold no grudges towards them. They were, for the most part, concerned with my soul. They did what they did out of love, even if their actions were misguided. The real culprits, I believe, are the bronze-era churchmen who placed power above love and distorted this wonderful religion into something...awful. Now that I realize this, I do truly feel free. Sadly, I can't take most of what I've said here into my offline life just yet. Because I love those around me, I have to work this gradually. I may never tell them everything that I have said here. What I *will* proclaim, though, is the doctrine of love above all else.

Quite strikingly throught provoking, amigo!
I'll admit, yeah, I would not have pegged you for a Christian. Unfortunately, a big reason for that is that the most extreme, loudmouthed, nutzoid, hatemongering 'Christians' have hijacked the whole religion and they're the only ones who seem to get any TV airtime anymore. I would really like to know how many true followers of Christ wish Pat Robertson would just STFU. He is my personal choice for the true identity of the Antichrist. think about it! Who's done more to smear the religion's name and drive people away from Christianity than Pat Robertson!?
As far as the love stuff goes; right on. I expressed similar sentiments in a defense of Love Me Till My Heart Stops essay (that thankfully, I haven't needed to post! I've been amazed by the overwhelmingly positive response it's gotten). With the hysteria over child molesters especially, everyone, including parents, are afraid to so much as brush up against a kid for fear of being sent to jail forever. I think people _need_ physical touch for their sake of well-being, and without it we go crazy.
And as far as porn/sex, I've always looked at it this way: God made us in His own image, correct? Well then wouldn't He be a bit insulted by us thinking that parts of us, and therefore Him, are so filthy they need to be covered up by pieces of cloth all the time? A bit smartassy, I know, but it's worth a thought. ;)
Lastly, as far as hate goes, I don't think there's anyone who can completely erase hate from their heart. We are merely another animal species on this planet, and at its heart, nature is cruel. Hate is, unfortunately, as natural as any other emotion. However, I think you don't have to worry about it so long as you don't let your hate consume you, and also don't ball it up until it explodes. Negative emotions need release sometimes. Like f'rinstance, I hate Michael Bay. But only to the extent that I make fun of him in snarky journals and whatnot. I'd never actually *do* anything to him for real (although, given the chance, I would probably tell him to his face that his movies make America stupider). Humor is a good way to temper hate; to express it without getting all worked up over it.

1) The thing with Pat Robertson is that any more, even the most hardcore Christians have a hard time believing him. He's just an idiot with money. Money talks loudly.
2) Agreed. Fear is the thief of joy in life.
3) Agreed, but more importantly, it's a question of priorities. What do you hold to be more important - making the lives of others better or not sticking your penis into men's asses?
4) Sadly, you are very right. It is impossible to eradicate hatred from our hearts. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't try. Part of the problem is our ambiguity in the English language - there are degrees of hatred that simply aren't reflected. I seriously doubt that you *really*, passionately hate the *person* who is Michael Bay. I'm talking about the seething, pent up frustrations, the grudges that people build up over years. Plus, there's a difference between sarcasm and hatred. Although sarcasm can be hateful, it doesn't necessarily have to be. From what I've seen, largely your stuff isn't that hateful (Except for perhaps what you've done to a few of your characters).

1) True. But unfortunately, he's the face of the Christian Right. Batshit insane or not, he's managed to bullshit his way into the position of spokesman. It's kinda how I feel, supporting animal rights, but knowing the head of P.E.T.A. is so incredibly hypocritical, militant and insane that she's harming her cause more than helping it.
2) Fear is a doo-doo head! ;)
3) Can I do both? :3
4) Very perceptive. Yeah, I'd have to say at the height of my most volcanic hatred of Michael Bay, I might slap the guy for what he did to Transformers. Only because I think he truly deserves it for making a movie that bad, using that much money, which could have gone to much better uses. So all things considered, not a very deep, boiling hatred. (Compared to, say, Fred Phelps' hatred of himself-oops! I mean homosexuals. *evil grin*)
