Bugs would suck blood from the tips which would damage the ears. They have got better at keeping the bugs away.

if any were hug-friendly i'd totally ask to give hugs on my behalf. :) very beautiful guys and gals. :) (have seen some vids of sanctuary/shelter wolves/yotes that were loving like that. so at least not an ignorant thought ^^)
