Production Designer Anton Furst (RIP), under the mandate from the producers to make all things Gotham appear "from the year 2000, as seen from the 1940s" designed this deco locomotive-inspired beast; so tremendous a vehicular presence that it's given its own especial reveal and musical cue in the first Burton/Keaton movie.
