I know, it's sad that they couldn't get born and have a happy life but that's nature. It's hard. At least they didn't suffer and are still now appreciated in death. I'm glad I've got hem, even though they're dead, they are still loved.

Yea, though I wish there was a way to filter taxidermy out of the homepage for users. It's all too sudden to see more dead cats after my stupid neighbors killed my old wild cat, which she was pregnant too. I have nothing against people who like taxidermy, I just don't like seeing it x.x

It's alright, I may not be too into taxidermy, but I have a deer skull I found in some old woods, and what I think is a squirrel tail I found at a park e.o find the strangest things lying around lol the cat fetuses are very weird though, neat in a way.

These were more then likely stillborn/or died in the womb. Yes, its sad. But fascinating and educational that they were preserved for observation.

The left one had developed little stumps, too bad the mother died.

These are mine yes. I got the left one from a taxidermist who was preparing a cat, he didn't know she was pregnant. The right one I got from a vet. She had to remove the kittens to resque the mother cat.

and that's neat you managed to get them. a friend of mine had a small shark, but I feel like she'd gotten it at a surf shop where they had plenty of them for sale. I've seen those before, and I certainly hope they're not killed just for that. :C

I got a little shark myself, I got it from a fish seller. Little sharks sometimes get tangled in the nets :/

that was what I'd hoped. not that that's good! but at least they're not purposely caught. I'd love to have some of these myself. right now I've just got some bones. I dunno. bones are sweet. but you sound like you've got quite a collection! I'm sure these little guys would be happy with you if they'd lived. I'm happy to hear you enjoy having them. <3

I was thinking of selling some of my wet specimens, but shipping them is a pain in the ass cause the fluids are toxic...
I'm very happy with them, but I'm also collecting skulls and pelts... My room is exploding. I'm selling some of my stuff. If you are interesting in something please let me know :)

It's so weird that a cat can look like a worm and then turn out to be a cute kitten.

Ohhhh, the first time I saw one of these they were in my highschool Ag. class. I was SO fascinated. Everyone else was grossed out. I offered to buy them from my teacher but she just wouldn't budge...xD

They really are fascinating and I got attached instantly. Maybe I'll get more fetuses in the future, but shipping them overseas is so hard... So I would sell them only in Europe :/

Reminds me of when I dissected a pregnant cat for school, she was probably a week away from giving birth to the kittens inside her, you could see their whiskers and claws and everything

I never had to dissect anything in school :(

Yes she was in a box labeled "pregnant female cat specimen" and since I am skilled in dissections, I was asked to take that one on because it was known I wouldn't damage the fetuses. They were poorly preserved in latex already, and though we tried, they ended up rotting on us :/
Oh man that sucks D: In my anatomy and biology courses I've dissected frogs, squid, birds, snakes, rats, salamanders/mudpuppies, fetal pigs, tons upon tons of cats, sharks... Its been great ;O;

But yeah I'm invited constantly to go back and help x3 Since most students are appalled by it, or don't have the guts to cut open a skull to see the brain but still want to see it, etc

You could always go to a college around you that has medical classes and ask to see if you could just watch a class go on as they work on one or something!

I've had a baby of my own, and have seen all the ultrasounds and what not, and seeing the more developed fetus just looks to me like a people baby, except with cat features. It's amazing, and makes me wish anthro-critters were real. ^_^***
