You really have no idea how proud I am of this one...
So this is
alaitallon's really super late Christmas (and ... Valentine's Day? Let's throw St. Patrick's Day in there too.) present from me; a fully customized plushie of her anthro Kyonshi (her original species) character, Keshet! (NentirelySFW reference pic: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8581267/) Normally I don't post the pics of presents until I've had a chance to deliver the original present to its recipient, but since this one is SO late, and because I'm SUPER pleased with how he turned out, I can't help myself. I just have to show this super-duper cutie off! I don't think she'll mind getting a preview of her gift. ;) He is just so darling, I want to snoogle him all the time!
The story actually goes that I was going to make the plushie of a different character of Tallon's, but I kept going back to Keshet's reference picture going, "but this one is just sooo darling!" I don't know, I guess I've changed my opinion of the color pink? I can't help it. Keshet it just freaking too cute for words, and I think his plushie version turned out most excellent!
Because of a lack of good anthro plushie patterns available on the internet, I made this pattern entirely from scratch. That means I had to draw it out, cut it out, use scrap fabric to make sure the parts worked together, and then finally make it AGAIN with the real fabric. Because of the level of detail in the markings, I had to make Keshet out of white material, and color everything in sharpies. (Except his eyes. Those are painted in acrylics.) It was super time consuming, but totally worth it! I could never have gotten the level of detail in his markings with sewing and cutting layers of fabric.
Ultimately, I got a great pattern out of all the work, and it should be relatively easy for me to customize it further from this point to fit other peoples' custom plushie characters, which is why I'm not making the pattern available for the public to use... That's right, I'll be making these available once I reopen my commissions (around April, I'm thinking). And for those who are interested in custom plushies but don't have the money, I'm also working on developing a small, simple plushie pattern that will be more in the $25 range. Stay tuned!

I haven't given it a final price tag yet. Because this one was a present, I didn't measure and price out the fabric, paint, pens, gemstone, etc. But because of the time and energy alone, I'm probably going to have to charge $100-$150. Maybe as much as $200 if a character had a lot of additions like horns or antlers or something special like that. Again, that's not set in stone, and I would totally understand if that's too much for you to consider. (Because heck, I couldn't afford that! I'm a poor artist!) I really wish I could charge less, but the materials and mostly the vast time I have to invest in this sort of project just don't make a smaller price tag possible for me.
On the other hand, if that is too high (which, like I said, I'd completely understand) I AM working on the smaller/cheaper/simpler plushie pattern. Right now it's not really anthro style, but I think I could probably fudge it around a little and get some variations... Anywho, that one is going to be something more like $25, and if I can, I'd like to throw free shipping within the continental USA with that one. Again, we'll see. I'm still working on that pattern, and it's going to be a little while before it's fine-tuned enough to present. :)
I do hope that you can commission me at some point--but even if not me, I hope you can get you dream plushie from someone somewhere, or even make it yourself! :D

Thanks! Keshet's definitely one of the more unique designs I've seen! And of course, I love
alaitallon's Kyonshi species!

Thank you so much! And I'm so sorry it's taken me a month to see this!
I am taking commissions, and if you're still interested I'd love to make one for you! Price would range from about $200 to $350, depending on the amount of detail of the character. Email me (mikeyftw@gmail.com) sometime and we can talk it out. :)
