(and, no, it wasn't worth restoring. Trust me. It looks a lot better in the picture than it did in real life.)

Heh. It's a little anniversary badge I got on the grille (a replacement from eBay). It was for folks who took delivery of their car in Germany, then went home with it... Do a search for 'mercedes grill badge' on eBay and something similar should show up.
