This fellow was killed by a friend of my mothers' dog. He knew I was interested in bones and taxidermy, so he stuck it in the freezer until my mom had a chance to go nab it and bring it to me. I skinned him and cleaned up the bones.
The skin was pretty beat up from the dog attack, but it's still usable. I tanned it with a turpentine and distilled alcohol mixture, and it's sitting in my freezer until I figure out what I want to do with it and can break it. While it was in the tan, I pulled out the ear cartilage and decided they looked really cool, so I kept them.
Then once the skeleton was clean, I stained it with some henna left over from the last time I did my hair and started putting it together. And then I decided I was very glad I saved the ear cartilage. I put them back on the skull.
I still have a fair bit of work to do. Like ribs, and feet and connecting the forelegs to the rest of the skeleton. I'll finish it soon.
