I received my unit patch today. It's the Third Infantry Division unit patch.
Funny thing about the soldiers in this division, they're nick-named "dog-faced soldiers." Such a coincidence, isn't it? :P
The Third Infantry Division has a proud history of military service. in World War I amiss the Second Battle of the Marne in France, as surrounding allied units retreated from the German assault, soldiers from the 30th and 38th infantry regiment held their ground and held the German Army back. They stayed rock solid and never gave an inch of land, earning the division their reputation as the "Rock of the Marne."
I'm proud to now be considered a member of this division.
