This Slowpoke is what you weeaboos call “tsundere”. I just learned what that meant recently LOL Anyway. This is Cornbread, named after Puce’s favorite food.

Cornbread was one of the many Slowpoke being herded to getting their tails cut off. Puce loves Slowpoke, so she caught her to try and save her from that fate and then accidentally saved the other Slowpokes. Since then she’s been one of Puce’s best Pokemon. So albeit slower (in speed, not thought) than Puce’s other Pokemon, she’s faster than normal Slowpokes. She doesn’t really care for Ghost Pokemon because they’re too goofy for her and doesn’t think they can take anything seriously, battles especially. She takes some pride in being the only team member who doesn’t want to evolve, hence why she wears the Everstone on her collar. (She doesn’t include Fork because he can’t evolve without help.) Cornbread also has a classy, up-town nature that Slowpokes don’t normally have. Her prim and proper nature clashes with Puce’s Dragonite, Fireworm, who is basically Puce as a Pokemon. So Cornbread and Fireworm butt heads alot.

Cornbread does stick to her type of moves, Water and Psychic, but she’s nothing to sneeze at. She’s incredibly brave and a great fighter, tho her fighting tactics require very little movement for her, luckily. And despite her rebeliousness, she actually is very fond of Puce for saving her and her fellow Slowpoke and allowing her to not evolve.

Traits: Has blue eyes, a fluffy tuft of hair, fluffier ears and face, and a bigger tail tip marking than other Slowpoke. She also dons freckles on her cheeks and ears of the same light pink. Unlike other Slowpoke, she’s often seen sitting proper. Or at least as proper as a Slowpoke body type will allow her to sit.

How I draw Slowpoke: I draw them similarly to a Hippo, as their design was intended to look, but each Slowpoke’s body varies, tho I still keep them fat and stubby. Instead of giving them Hippo skin, hint at short hair on their body. Instead of the one hoof, I give them three toes on each foot. I usually give them their signature derp expression, Cornbread is just an odd exception.
