When Puce still had her Charizard, Matches, on her team, was when she first caught Fireworm as a Dratini. Fireworm was found in the Dragon’s Cave, where many Dratini are found. She lived with her mother, a Dragonair, until one day she never returned to their cave.
Puce came in, determined to have a Dragonite on her team. She used Matches to capture her, and he ended up putting a huge burn mark on the little Dratini’s head. Puce named her Fireworm. Matches is a very good-natured Charizard and felt terrible about doing that to the poor thing. Fireworm forgave him, but she still likes giving him a hard time about it.
The Dratini was actually happy to be on Puce’s team, because they both had similar goals. Puce wanted Fireworm to evolve and get stronger. It helped that the two share very familiar personalities. Since both Pokemon and trainer were determined for Fireworm to evolve, she did at quite an early age, but still knowing Dragonite-appropriate attacks. The only downside being since she’s so young, she’s not as big and bulky as most Dragonites, so she often lacks in the physical department. That still doesn’t keep her from being one of Puce’s best Pokemon.
Fireworm knows a wide variety of attacks, from Fire, Electric, Dragon, Flying, and even Ice moves when she’s fighting her fellow Dragon types. That and her Inner Focus puts her at an amazing advantage. Her relationship with her team varies. She always has fun with Fork and Soybean, since they’re all rather playful. She thinks Puddinpopz is a stick in the mud, and Toodles is simply fun to tease. As for Cornbread, since their personalities clash, she will often try to bait the Slowpoke into a fight.
Later on, Fireworm finds out that Puce’s friend, Pink, was the one who captured her mother, and named her Aura. They happily visit each other every now and again.
Traits: Smaller build that most Dragonite. Thick tail. Burn mark on her forehead. Curly “whiskers” on top of head. Green eyes and green collar given to her by Puce.
How I draw Dragonite: I generally draw them tubbier than Fireworm, so there’s a bit of a difference there. I gave them full on claws, as opposed to long fingers with dinky claws like how I used to draw them.
