Some drawings I did a year ago for Gaia Zoo. They're part of a big set of drawings for an educational puzzle booklet for kids.

This one was one of the most interesting drawings to do, since I had never drawn an archeopteryx before, and unlike living animals I couldn't just look up photos, and I hardly know anything about ancient animals to begin with. They're usually depicted being very colorful, but recent studies have shown that the feathers in their wings were dark or black. Many birds have black wingtips, most likely because the dark pigment actually makes the feathers stronger. It might very well be that the archeopteryx was entirely black, but I decided not to draw him like that for the drawing's sake, so I tried to come up with some color scheme that looks at least plausible. I didn't put feathers around his eyes to keep the 'dinosaur link' obvious for the kids, and if I remember correctly I also drew less feathers on the tail because it's a cartoon drawing.
