A pair of Kirin halfsuits, shown on my white body suits.
These belong to a customer whom I can easily call a "dream customer"
*Firstly they are artistic freedom commissions, aside from being Kirins I was left to my own devices, upon finding the mottled fur and her having mottled dogs we decided on this color route. I have had a lot of fun coming up with the design.
*Secondly the customer has encouraged me to use them as much as possible before sending them to her, which is like, wow. She wants to see them get used as part of my Beastcub's Creatures performance crew, she wants me to submit them in the fair! How cool is that? The male already went to a fantasy fair in October and the pair may be at an event this spring before being submitted in the CA state fair (just the heads) this summer, after of which they will go to the person who commissioned them :)
*Thirdly, this started as just one, the male, which was supposed to be female but I like failed on that pretty miserably, even so the customer was still thrilled with it... but I was not. When I expressed this to her she decided to just buy a second head so I could try again :D
Overall the creation of these has just been a wonderful experience <3
-wiggle ears
-LED eyes
-hand made paper clay horns and scales
-vision out mesh in the neck
here is a WIP of the female http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9971473/

they are stylized in shape, and part of why the sides are so flat is I cannot taper them in around the bottom because of how the human head has to fit inside and the view port area. The male's snout did turn out more blocky than intended but I corrected this on the female (and in the end I feel the blocky nose just lends itself to the male contrast aspect)
Awwww!! I love the scuptural look of these -- they're just wonderful!!!! I mean, like Stuffedpanda said, they have that painting quality to them, and look really fascinating and different to me. Not just fursuit heads but sculptures, and... well, horses, they be pretty flat in the nose and jaw! ;) How cool are they! Thank you so much for all your work and fun with these, it shows. Even if I never wore them, dangit, I'd mount them on the wall just to freak out folks. "No, hunted them, caught them totally off guard!" ;)
I can totally see the difference in the two sexes too - LOVE that. I admit, her expression is totally adorable and cute. I didn't expect it to be, but it really, really is! He looks more flat eyed and serious, and she looks more wide eyed and young. :) Cute to have them as siblings!
<3 Thank you! Just after the year you and yours have had, I'm so delighted that you're having fun with them, and I totally think it's awesome they get to be test-driven by you! (Besides, hahah, if you break anything, you're right there to fix it! XD) Photgraphing them is tough too -- the white tends to make them flatter, same problem I have photographing white dogs.
PS: I love the removable horns.
PPS: Thank you! Working with you has been a blast. I'm totally glad to have given you the reins! <3
