I never really realized what's really going on in this comic because I didn't pay attention to the comments. Now I can see why he's been driven to drink. I'd feel pretty rotten myself if I were partly responsible for people burning to death.
The last panel is just priceless by the way. You captured the emotion really well in such a simple drawing.

Heh, oddly enough there wasn't a real reason for the last panel except that I just liked the idea of our dear Messenger Duck having a suppressed layer of depression underneath his cuteness. One of those post-modern things you see in the art of today's youth.
