Dace is evasive, reclusive and non-provoking. His agility allows him to dodge rather than strike and his cunning grants him the ability to redirect attacks rather than give direct blows. He was taught similar teachings to Taoism and the ways of the Shaolin while mastering the blade; not to cut down his enemies, but for his enemies to cut themselves should they pose a threat. He follows a very strict code, taught to him by his mentor. To avoid rather than check, check rather than hurt, hurt rather than maim, and maim rather than kill. For all life is of value and no one has the right to take it away. Dace's one goal in life is to find his mother, father and brother. He's been led to believe that winning this tournament will bring him one step closer to reuniting with his kin. When one shouts atop the mountain, he can see the world below him as the world looks up and hears from the crowds.
