Little background about this piece:
I live in Bismarck, North Dakota. Smack in the middle of a very flat, sparsely populated state. While I live in the capitol city, it's really just a small town with 50k people.
Every time I need to go somewhere, and feel the need to uproot for awhile. I hop on the one and only major artery that runs through this city, and that's Interstate 94. Specifically, I-94 East (which is part of US HWY 83 close to Bismarck as well).
Take I94 about 180 miles, and you reach Fargo, still North Dakota and still very midwestern, but much more of an established city.
Keep going, you eventually reach Minneapolis/St. Paul, a true metropolis.
Keep going, eventually the road will turn into I90 and it'll carry you straight to Chicago.
This road is the gateway to all the amazing travels I have had as a result of joining the furry fandom. So this piece is kinda a tribute to that. This road has taken me to meet new friends, to find love, to Anthrocon and across the country.
