Or at least, that's Lark's argument for her massive collection of CDs. Assumably, in the Mass Effect universe, people have moved away from using vinyl and plastic for their music, and have begun using downloads straight to their omnitool.
Lark, being a purist, loves the sound of music from vinyl and plastic over the slightly fuzzy downloads that most people get.
She still uses downloads for her unique version of tactical cloak.
