Under the morning sun
we follow the wind
the hunter proud
as we guide the herd
A character theme collaboration with
alectorfencer for
utunu and
kikivuli's characters, a scene of them running with the herd on the verge of an African sunrise.
It gave me chance to give the Djembe and the guitar a bit of a workout... And work the symphony orchestra and choir around it! Also... Panpipes <3
Check out the epic image that goes with the song here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10088160/

Yes, it was a total surprise! I didn't even relate the one twitter comment from Fox asking about experienced Swahili singers. I thought it was interesting and pointed it out to Utunu. After this all panned out and he gave me my surprise he said that he quickly told you guys that I was a Twitter follower and that I had noticed. LOL. Too funny!
Thanks so much for this amazing piece (both in art and music) to Alector and Fox. I'm still trying to wrap my head around just an awesome gift from Utunu. Still somewhat speechless.

I wish - I checked the college here in town, they're not offering Swahili at this time (although they have in the past).
I have the Rosetta for it, but they only have 1 unit, which is rather insufficient.
I have a number of books on Swahili, and am learning that way. Which is fine, I've got shelves of obscure languages here at home; languages are sort of a hobby. :)
And yes, I have! I was telling Fox it's awesome how far it's gone up! :)

You did such a great job on this one once again. Both of you. I totally love the way you did the wonderful song and how it perfectly fits together with the great picture of AlectorFencer. I really like the dynamic in both the song and the picture. The atmosphere is brilliant too and I can just imagine the picture in motion when listening to the song and see them all dashing through savannah like area. You also did a brilliant job again displaying what you can see in the picture with your music too. It is awesome to see how perfect music and picture work together to create a unique and interesting atmosphere that lets you "feel" the picture and scenery at all. This is an impressive piece of art that comes along with a wonderful musical accompaniment. Brilliant as usual^^
It's okay. You help maintain accuracy. But otherwise, when you're dealing with a wizard of music, they're like all wizards. They're never late. Nor are they early. They arrive precisely when they mean to. Same goes for spelling.
Lol I'm just trying to have fun with it.

Another wonderful piece of acoustic artwork. Some very interesting instrument choices in there, which really do help paint the picture along the lines of...well...the picture linked to above! Instrumentally speaking...still curious to see what happens the day you get hold of a hammered dulcimer...or a set of tubular bells for that matter...
Always a great fan of orchestras working alongside less common or unexpected instruments (probably one of the reasons I enjoyed the soundtrack to Tron Legacy so much, the whole blend of orchestra and synthesisers was very much up my alley).
What can I say? It's beautiful, it's flowing, it's moving, it's enchanting...It's your music, basically!

Do I hear some of John William's french horns in there? Hehe.
Seriously, excellent use of instruments, and most importantly, timing. Unconventional instruments working together with strings or brass are brilliant only when the timing between them can be correctly pulled off. Where one section of music falls, another instruments swoops in to take it's place. It's fun to imagine each instrument as a character in the hunt.
Excellent, excellent, excellent.

quite literally just broke down crying when I heard this...
I could not properly say just how amazed I am... but my gosh- I've never heard something so... so ... well I dunno if it's the right words but uplifting and liberating!
it's truly one of the greatest compositions I've ever heard, without a doubt!
