the tank is 36X18X16 I already know it almost too small for it, but thats the best I've got till I can find it a proper home. as for lights they gave me a ceramic bulb and a heat lamp, which has been keeping the temperature pretty stable during the day time. I really need to get a black/red bulb for night though. our place gets chilly. Luckily the space heater has been doing a decent job of keeping it's room warm.
I know his tanks a bit small for it. :/ I'm actually not planning on keeping the snake, because I know for a fact I can't get him a tank that will fit him. I'm just kinda taking care of him till I can trade for a smaller snake and find him a home with someone who actually knows what they are doing D: I really shouldn't have him since I've never owed a snake before and these are deff NOT beginer snakes.
It was given to me by a guy going on deployment with my husband. Most likely he will end up at a snake sanctuary here in North Carolina :P

hhehee thats exactly the reason I'm not keeping the fellow! with 3 cats and a smallish dog, large snakes can't stay too long :P
I only got him because he had no where else to go, so I'm a temporary home for now. I may end up trading him for a ball python, or other smaller snake. But most likely this fellow will go to a local snake sanctuary.

Ball pythons are great! I've had mine for 11 years now. He's friendly and gentle, and a manageable size (about 40 inches long and about 3 pounds). The 40-breeder tank has been perfect for him his whole scaley life. I also had a Brazilian Rainbow Boa for 8 years; she was high-maintenance and a little temperamental but nonetheless a nice snake (also gorgeous).
Kudos to you for taking in a foster snake in need!

I would if I could, but in the end I'm not keeping him. Would love too if he was a smaller type of snake. I'm only keeping him till his owner comes back or deployment or until I get word that its okay to find him a new home.
I hate that he's got sucha small tank and try to take him out somewhat often to make up for it, but I can't justify buying a 100+ dollar tank for a pet I'm not keeping. Lol
An thanks he is super beautiful!
