When Verathevix commissioned me I knew I was going to be under some pressure. She's such a generous and talented individual, so I had no idea how that was going to translate into an image.
Also, I suck at instruments, so there's that.
Thanks for the commission, Vera! Your desire for excellence and your continued gift of music is inspiring!

He's going to have to compete with the second part of this piece: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9924894/
Aw yeh. Aw YEH! Just hook a brotha' up afta followin' these directions!
Haha, wow! WOW!
Everything about this screams freedom. The wild free strokes, the almost explosive shards of colour that escape the form mimic the boundless, ego shattering experience that playing the violin lends a true musician. Those ineffable moments of eternity, the bliss that lasts forever and yet for so short a time. That almost tempestuous energy. All wonderfully contrasted by the solid and serious expression and dark violin - almost as if they are the eye of the storm, completely focused and calm, gazing into forever in a finite world. Outside of its sphere everything is uncertain - one cannot know how their actions or music will affect others.
The colours you chose are fantastic, I adore how from the base it's almost ethereal - as if the clothes are part of the canvas, but as you rise it becomes more concrete, more saturated and contrasted against the background.
And with only a few strokes you gave the hand such motion and grace, it is dancing on the fingerboard. The lines surrounding the instrument almost turns it alive, resonating with the intoxicating strains that are being pulled out of its essence.
And hehe, you didn't need to be under any pressure - I'm much happier when an artist has fun drawing something - it always shows. I think you enjoyed drawing it, be honest now! Thank you so much! I'm at a loss for words.

Wow. I don't usually leave comments, Stig, but this is damned impressive. I look at this and I immediately feel the power of this picture. The instrument looks about ready to explode with sound, the subject looks frozen in motion, captured in single frame of time. This picture, to me, feels like it could come alive at any moment. Very powerful, very well done. And your unique style only adds to the sheer beauty of the image.
Very well done, my friend.

This image really speaks and especially considering that it has an instrument it would actually be fitting to add as a display for an on coming arts and music festival. When you get the chance then respond to me and I'll discuss more about the event and how I would like to use your piece in the show.
