So I started drawing Mufasa and Ahadi because... well, why not right? I started wondering what they were talking about and this little conversation came to me. It's also lead to more thoughts about plot points and character development, darn you single picture for stealing my mind!! Also, I've never drawn Ahadi before, so this was rather an experiment. :)
MUFASA: Dad, why do you worry about Taka?
AHADI: Mufasa, you must understand something. The desire to lead and be King, flows through Taka's veins, just like it does yours. As his older brother, you have stripped him of any chance of being King, without challenge or ritual.
MUFASA: But I didn't do it on purpose.
AHADI: I wish it were that simple.
MUFASA: I don't understand...
*Ahadi sighed*
AHADI: Jealousy is a powerful emotion, and when combined with the power of birthright, it can tear even the strongest of Prides apart.
MUFASA: He's my brother, he would never do anything to hurt me.
AHADI: You cannot let yourself believe that he always wishes the best for you, and you must not let concern for your brother override the concerns of the Pride.
MUFASA: But I'm supposed to look out for him.
AHADI: Mufasa, there may come a time when you need to look out for yourself, and your Pride, because Taka's jealousy has taken him too far.
MUFASA: You really believe there's so much bad in him?
AHADI: I wish it were not true, but I fear it's only a matter of time.
MUFASA: What am I supposed to do?
AHADI: Whatever you feel is right.
