Drawing Children Tutorial
Here's the second instalment in my drawing tutorials: how to draw children. The things to note about children are their rounded features, bean-shaped body that is bottom-heavy, and the fact that all of their features are lower on their face. Mouth and nose are clustered close together, eyes are larger, rounder, open in wide-eyed wonder and innocence. Cheeks and limbs are squishy--there are no sharp edges or angles on children! Generally, ears and feet appear bigger, because they're growing into them.
If you have questions, ask away! Obviously my style is on the cartoony side, but I've looked closely at children and studied how they move, and there's no substitute for lots of practice and sketching!

Marci thank you so much for this drawing tutorial!! This is by far on the most helpful tutorials, and comprehensive!!! Ive personally seen on Fa! Thank you so much!! I ave always lover your style and long wondered how you always seem to get them to look so...perfect and proportionate! And questions such as "where does the smaller muzzle circle fall in the big circle?" are questions Ive wanted answers to for a long while now!! Thank you so so much, and thank you for continuing to be one of my biggest motivations!!
Woah this actually helped A LOT! I knew these basics but never really practiced them, I just kinda started doodling and erasing and redrawing things over and over until they looked right. Many people have tried teaching me to use shapes and sketch lines etc but it never really clicked, but here I am sitting here, looking at a visual of what everybody has already tried teaching me and it actually worked for once. I think something just clicked, I think what helped me the most is I drew a line through the middle of the torso which made it easier to tell where the diaper would be and how everything else would be proportioned. The longer muzzle part helped a lot too! I've had problems drawing muzzles at an angle but now I get it, this is probably the cutest my art has ever looked, and I managed to pull it off without completely copying your style and letting my own style show through. I've already come a LONG way since I joined FA in 2008 but I think this just helped me improve what I was already capable of by 10 fold! Thank you for this tutorial! Imma start busting out some new art with my new weapon of adorableness >:3
Man! I could've used this when I drew http://www.furaffinity.net/full/6621681/ !
