A head blank for a certain pink goat. It's the first pull from the mould so there are some undercuts and bubbles that will be taken care of, but generally here it is. Some temporary eyes thrown in(Yes I have seen a goat IRL before I know what their pupils look like, but these are my 'SIT AROUND THE WORKSHOP AND GET THROWN IN THINGS FOR PERSPECTIVE' eyes).
Based on a nubian(thus the weird bumpy noggin). The grooves around the nose are for a convinient place to tuck fur edges so you dont have gross raw edges sticking out.
This particular head is cast in foam.
Sorry for poor lighting, getting a million things done pre-con.
Anyways, goat blanks will be available for sale, either $75 in foam or $100 in plastic.

Truefax. I usually sculpt with sheet foam, which is a fucking BITCH but I wanted to try my hand with this special FX grade expanding foam(Designed to be in contact with skin unlike typical expanding foam which will LOL ground beefify your face!), so despite the extra cost for the mould I think the smooth finish is worth it. Hopefully my next few casts will be bubble-less so they could be used kabuki style or something.
Thats what
dreamvisioncreations does, they've got a buttload of moulds and just sell premade stuff. Who'd've thought there were sub-niches in the already pretty limited niche market of animal costumes?

Hi, I wanted to get one of your goat bases. But I have some questions.
How sturdy/flexible is the expanding foam base?
Can it hold as much weight as a similarly sized resin base? I meen to say, are the connection point of the elastic straps at a risk of pulling away chunks of foam if too much force is used?
And what types of adhesives are compatible with this stuff?
Also since you have worked with both do you find a preference for either resin or foam? (How do they compair as far as beathability, weigh, durability and alteration go?)
Sorry, I dont meen to sound ornery its just that I have never worked with any type of expanding foam, only sheet/block foam and resin.

Its extremely tough stuff, very durable.
When its in one piece, its about 1.5x as heavy as a resin base, but once the mouth is hollowed out, it weghs about as much as a half empty coke can(A standard unit of american measurement!).
The elastic won't rip chunks of the foam if attached around the bottom of the jaw. The only part susceptable to ripping are the thin edges(Which stay thin for fitting on a skull easily).
Personally I like foam for breathability and ease of alteration. Resin skulls definitely have better moving jaws, but are heavier and slightly more uncomfortable.
Nah its cool. This is about 4x as dense as the standard 'dense polyurethane foam'(Green joannes foam), while still being nice and squishy

This might sound obvious but is this solid foam or hollow like a foam latex appliance? I've been wanting to start building a baphomet character and probably going to manually punch the fur. If it is hard foam do you think we'd be able to make a mold of it?
Great sculpt and keep up the hard work.
