I got this piece done right before MFF, having wanted something brand new to show people. Sadly, it drew almost no attention. I love this piece, though, and will likely make a new icon from it, if I ever get around to coloring things again.
This piece shows three of the changes I've made to the character design since my last round of pictures. The first is that the snake-esque cheek slits have been exchanged for a crocodilian 'smile'. The second is that the coat has been changed, being a more typical naval design, with the full length, folded over breasts. The third is that the second cutlass (the one in the right hand) is no longer a proto-cutlass/falchion, but a proper, early cutlass, with a thick, clever like blade. The other cutlass, that she's always been drawn with, is a naval cutlass, a la the English navy, which is really a saber attached to a basket hilt, loosing most of the advantages of a cutlass.

The crocodile tail I added a little while ago, deciding I'd like to take her design from snake-skink to crocodile-skink. The feet, coincidentally, are based off of a skink's, as is the shape of her head. Long, thin and fully prehensile feet. She can grip objects, and even manipulate them to some degree. She can fully support her weight on her feet, as well. She can do the same with her tail.
Well, interesting foot designs pretty much automatically get my approval, but yeah, I'm digging this. ^_^
Oh, and awesome pose, too. The foreshortening and the action and sense of motion and everything are all very nicely done. Then again, poses and camera angles have always been a strong point for you.

Well, I like it enough that I went ahead and posted about it on FTW_FA. ^_^
