I like the patches in the trees but they may be too large? Can't really say but it's a start, possibly make smaller patches near the large ones. Also, why are there blotches on the stuff he's sitting on? Just seems a bit off since they look similar to the patches in the trees.

I don't draw backgrounds so you'd probably just want to look around for some good refs instead for more reliable stuff.
