
..., but what is it?!
The thing I find most fascinating about maned wolves, except for the way they look (which I really love), is the fact that they are, even though the way they look, as well as their name suggest some very close relations, actually neither wolf nor fox, nor coyote, dog or jackal, but rather a distinct kind of canid.
(sorry for the grainy quality, but since it was late in the evening, this was shot at ISO 1600 to keep exposure times reasonable ... promise to get some better shots next time I'm there!)
