Oh my god, this is wonderful. Insect suits can be hit or miss, and this is cute without being toony, and definitely not scary at all. I was going to ask how you did the abdomen and the eyes, but you explained it in your lj. That's very clever to use an inflatable ball. I wouldn't have thought of that.
I actually got the idea from 
beastcub. She made a suit with an inflatable chili pepper for the tail. Tails take up the most space when packing a suit, especially if they're big. So any way to shrink them down is awesome :D

oh my gosh! i took a look at the livejournal link and that is exactly how i have been planing on makeing the buggy but for my mantis!!!
im so releaved to see that it works instead of only knowing of the failures of my crux tail
i will have to buckle down and re-double my efforts on experimenting with creating inflatable bladders
